How fast can you repair my stucco?
We schedule inspections within 2 business days and can often complete repairs the same week. For small cracks and patches, same-day turnaround is possible.
Will the repair match my existing stucco?
We sample your stucco's color, texture, and finish and mix to match. Small repairs are nearly invisible; large patches may show a faint line that fades over one season.
What causes stucco to crack?
Settling, freeze-thaw cycles, and poor original application all cause cracks. Once we inspect, we tell you whether it's cosmetic or structural and what's needed to stop water entry.
Should I repair small cracks now or wait?
Don't wait. Water gets behind stucco in one freeze-thaw cycle. A $200 crack repair now beats a $2,000 water damage bill later.
Is it just cosmetic or structural?
We inspect with tools to measure depth and check for water behind the stucco. This tells us whether it's a surface repair or needs more work.
How long does a crack repair last?
A properly sealed crack shouldn't reopen if the underlying cause (settling, poor drainage) is addressed. We recommend gutter and grading checks as part of the estimate.
Can you patch over a small hole without replacing the whole wall?
Yes. We clean the hole, prime it, fill with patching compound, and texture to match your stucco. For most damage, patching is faster and costs far less than replacement.
How big can a patch be?
Patches up to 12 inches blend invisibly. Larger damage may show a seam, but we minimize it and the color will fade together over time.
Will the patch crack again?
Not if we address the cause—poor drainage, impact damage, or age. A good patch uses flexible primers and compounds and lasts as long as the stucco around it.
What does water damage look like in stucco?
Soft or spongy patches, dark staining, or mold on or near the wall. You may smell mildew inside the house. These signs mean water is behind the stucco and the interior framing is at risk.
How do you fix water-damaged stucco?
We remove the damaged section, dry the cavity, check the framing and flashing, repair or replace them as needed, and re-stucco. This is bigger than a simple patch and timing matters—wet wood rots fast.
Will mold come back after repair?
Not if we find and seal the leak source. We also ensure proper drainage and ventilation so moisture doesn't re-accumulate.
Why does my patch look like a patch?
Stucco color shifts with age and sun exposure. We take samples from your wall, test mixes in daylight, and apply finish coats that age-match your existing stucco over time.
Can you match a textured finish?
Yes. We photograph your texture, replicate it during application, and feather the patch edges so the transition is invisible.
How long before the new stucco matches the old?
Fresh stucco is slightly lighter. Within 2–3 seasons, UV and weather age it to match your original wall. Most homeowners see a blend after 6 months.
What's the difference between stucco and siding repair?
Stucco siding is your exterior envelope. Repairs must seal water out and are more involved than paint or trim work. We treat every repair as a waterproofing project.
How do I know when siding repair is urgent?
Cracks wider than 1/8 inch, spalling (chunks missing), or soft spots are red flags. Water is likely behind the wall—get it inspected within days, not weeks.
Will repaired siding last as long as the original?
Yes, if the cause is fixed. We use modern primers, flexible compounds, and sealants that often outlast old stucco, especially in freeze-thaw climates like Castle Rock.
When do I need full replacement instead of repair?
When stucco is soft across large areas, cracks are everywhere, or the wall fails water tests. Your inspector or contractor can tell you if patching will hold or if replacement is the only fix.
How long does stucco replacement take?
A full wall typically takes 5–10 days depending on size and weather. Prep, base coats, finish, and texture all need time to cure—rushing compromises the job.
What's included in a replacement?
We remove old stucco, inspect and repair the substrate, install new flashing, apply base coat, finish coat, texture, and color. We also seal gaps and ensure proper drainage.
What exterior areas need stucco repair?
Walls, soffits, arches, parapets, and trim all age and crack. South and west-facing walls weather fastest because of UV and heat. Valleys and overhangs collect water and need inspection often.
Does Castle Rock weather damage stucco faster?
Yes. Freeze-thaw cycles, intense sun, and hail all stress stucco. Regular inspection and small repairs keep you ahead of the damage cycle.
Can you repair stucco in winter?
Not safely below 50°F—stucco won't cure properly. We schedule repairs in late spring through early fall, and handle emergencies with temporary sealants.
What's the difference between interior and exterior stucco repair?
Interior stucco doesn't need waterproofing, so we focus on finish, texture, and blending. It's faster and cheaper than exterior work, but must match your wall perfectly.
Can you match an old interior stucco finish?
Yes. We sample the color and texture, apply thinned coats to avoid buildup, and feather edges. Indoor stucco is more forgiving than exterior because water isn't a concern.
How much does interior stucco repair cost?
Cost depends on patch size, texture complexity, and whether walls need priming. Small patches run less than $500; large walls may run several thousand. We quote exact prices after inspection.
